How do we use your Personal Information for Marketing & Advertising

Depending on your marketing preferences, Red Star may use your Personal Information to send you marketing messages by email, phone, SMS or post. Some of these messages may be tailored for you, based on your online profile, your previous browsing or purchase activities, and other information we hold about you.

If you no longer want to receive marketing communications from us (or would like to opt back in), you can change your preferences at any time by contacting us via any of the methods given at the in the ‘Contact us’ section at the end of this Policy, or by using the ‘unsubscribe’ mechanism in the promotional message or updating your contact preferences in your account. If you unsubscribe from marketing, please note we may still contact you with service messages from time to time (e.g. ticket confirmations, and information about your legal rights). Once you unsubscribe, you may continue to receive marketing messages for a few days while we action your unsubscribe request.

You may also see adverts for Red Star on third party websites, including on social media. These ads may be tailored to you using cookies (which track your web activity, so enable us to serve ads to customers who have visited or websites or apps). Where you see an ad on social media, this may be because we have engaged the social network to show adverts to our customers, or users who match the demographic profile of our customers. In some cases, this may involve sharing your email address with the social network. If you no longer want to see tailored ads you can change your cookie and privacy settings on your browser and these third party websites.

Cookies

Our websites use cookies to collect certain information about the visitors automatically. Cookies are small text files that store basic information that a website can use to track on-line traffic flows, recognise repeat site visits and record information about your on-line preferences. They often include an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your browser from our websites, which is then stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies do not attach to your system and damage your files but observe user behaviour and compile aggregate data that we then use to improve web services. We also use cookies to measure the effectiveness of advertising.

There are two broad categories of cookies – ‘first party cookies’ and ‘third party cookies’. First party cookies are cookies that are served directly by the website operator to your computer and are used only by the website operator to recognise your computer when it revisits that site. Third party cookies are served by a service provider on behalf of the website operator and can be used by the service provider to recognise your computer when it visits other websites. Third party cookies are most commonly used for website analytics or advertising purposes.

Our Use of Data Analytics

We evaluate, categorise and profile personal data to help us tailor materials, services and communications on our platforms and on third party platforms such as social media. This also helps prevent unwanted communications from filling up your inbox. This also helps us understand and provide a better experience to our fans, improve and protect our organisation and carry out research connected to our aims.

Internal research and analysis: We carry out research and analysis on our supporters and members, to determine the success of campaigns and appeals, better understand behaviour and responses and identify patterns and trends. This helps inform our approach and make Red Star a stronger and more effective organisation. Understanding our fans, their interests and what they care about also helps us provide a better experience and service.

Analysis and grouping: We analyse the data we collect about fans to identify common characteristics and preferences. We do this by assessing various types of information including behaviour, for example, previous activity or demographic information, such as age or location. This allows us to ensure you receive the communications, products and information which are most important to you.

Profiling to help us understand our fans: We profile fans on the basis of various criteria including their interests, general geographic location, websites and apps activities and socioeconomic and age groups. We also use aggregated, anonymised lifestyle data obtained from third parties to supplement our profiles. This information helps us to ensure communications are relevant and timely and to offer new products and services that may be of interest to our fans.

Several of these analytics activities rely on the use of cookies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies.  If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our website or platforms may become inaccessible or not function properly.

How Long We Keep your Personal Information

We keep your Personal Information for the time needed to fulfil the purposes set out above, and so this period will vary depending on your interactions with us and the nature of the Personal Information. For example, we retain your Personal Information about your membership for as long as your account remains active, and for a limited period of time afterwards (in case you decide to reactivate your membership or have queries about it). Where you have bought a ticket or merchandise from us, we will keep a record of your purchase for the period necessary for invoicing, tax and warranty purposes. We may also keep a record of correspondence with you (for example if you have made a complaint) for as long as is necessary to protect us from a legal claim.

Where we no longer have a legitimate business need to keep your information, we delete or anonymise the relevant information or, if this is not possible (for example, because your Personal Information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your Personal Information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible. Please note that where you unsubscribe from our marketing communications, we will keep a record of your email address and/or phone number (as applicable) to ensure we do not send you marketing emails in future.

With Whom We Share your Personal Information

Our servers are based in Serbia. However, we may share your Personal Information to other trusted third parties with whom we have contractual relationship in order to carry out someof the data processing activities on our behalf. These may include, for example, data base processing companies, payment processing organizations and post-delivery organizations, search engine and analytics providers, etc.

Where necessary, or for the reasons set out in this Policy, Personal Information may also be shared with relevant authorities. While it is unlikely, we may be required to disclose Personal Information to comply with legal or regulatory requirements. We will use reasonable endeavours to notify the data subject before we do this, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.

We may share your Personal Information with our commercial partners and sponsors but only if you have opted in to receive marketing relating to our commercial partners and sponsors.

Consequently, your Personal Information may be processed in third countries outside of Europe, including in countries where the local laws do not provide the same level of data protection as those in Europe. If we transfer Personal Information outside the European Economic Area we will, as required by applicable law, ensure that the third country was assessed by the European Commission to ensure an adequate level of data protection, and/or that your privacy rights are adequately protected by appropriate safeguards. These safeguards may include the Data Protection Authority’s standard contractual clauses. Please contact us if you would like more information about these safeguards. If we do transfer your Personal Information to third countries, we will take proper steps to ensure that your Personal Information is protected in accordance with this Policy.

Children

Our websites and apps are not intended for users under 15 years (or the appropriate lowest age under the data protection laws applicable in the country where you are located). We recommend that parents supervise their children while they are online. There are various control tools available for online services that we advise parents to utilise in order to create a child-friendly online environment for their children.

We are dedicated to the protection of children's Personal Information and we do not actively market to children under the age of 15 (or the appropriate lowest age under the data protection laws applicable in the country where you are located), and endeavour to limit the amount of Personal Information which we collect from them.

If you are under 15 (or the appropriate lowest age under the data protection laws applicable in the country where you are located) and wish to register an account on our websites or apps, you must truthfully tell us your name, email address, country and date of birth. We will then ask you for the name and email address of your parent or legal guardian. We will send them an email, so they are aware of your request and will ask them for their consent and to confirm they have authority to give that consent. We need their consent or refusal within 7 days, or else we will assume consent is not granted. Their consent can be withdrawn at any stage.

Even if your parent or legal guardian gives their consent to your registration, if you are under 15 (or the appropriate lowest age under the data protection laws applicable in the country where you are located) we still expect you to tell them and get their agreement in advance each time before you:

In any case, as long as you are under 18 (or the appropriate lowest age under the data protection laws applicable in the country where you are located), if you wish to buy anything online from our websites or apps, to pay a membership fee or undertake any other transaction with us, you are required to tell this to your parent or legal guardian and get their agreement in advance (unless the applicable law permits otherwise).

Third Party Links

The Red Star websites and apps may include links to websites operated by third parties. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content or activities of these linked sites. However, we do seek to protect the integrity of our websites and we welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work) by email or in writing via the contact details given below.

Rights of Data Subjects Regarding Personal Information

Your rights regarding your Personal Information depend on the jurisdiction where such rights were obtained and the purpose for which the Personal Information was obtained. While the regulations in any of the jurisdictions affected may provide for some additional rights, we ensure the following minimal rights to data subjects:

These rights may be limited in certain cases, for example if fulfilling your request would reveal personal information about another person, or if you ask us to delete your Personal Information which we are required by law to keep or have compelling legitimate interests in keeping.

To exercise any of these rights, you can get in touch with us using the details set out below. If you have unresolved concerns, you have the right to complain to a competent data protection authority.

If you object to the processing of your Personal Information, or if you have provided consent to processing and later choose to withdraw it, we will respect that choice in accordance with our legal obligations. The objection (or withdrawal of any previously given consent) could mean that we are unable to perform the actions necessary to achieve the purposes set out above. Please note that even after you have chosen to withdraw consent we may be able to continue to process your Personal Information to the extent required or otherwise permitted by law, in particular in connection with exercising and defending our legal rights or meeting our legal and regulatory obligations.

OUR COOKIES POLICY

If you choose not to delete and/or block cookies from our websites or apps and continue to use our websites and our apps, you are thereby consenting to our use of such cookies.

A description of the type of cookies that we use, and their purpose, is below:

You may delete and block all cookies from our website, but parts of the website may not then work. Most web browsers and devices allow some control of most cookies through the browser or device settings, for example you can set up your web browser to inform you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it.
